Product FAQ

What vehicles does this shock relocation kit fit?
This kit is designed for the 1967–1969 1st Gen F-Body, including the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird.
Why do I need to relocate my rear shocks?
Relocating the shocks inboard of the frame rails frees up critical wheel well space, allowing you to run wider rear tire packages for better traction.
Will my factory shocks work with this kit?
No. Stock length shocks will not work with this setup. You will need aftermarket shocks specified for this relocated mounting position, such as appropriately sized Viking shocks.
Can I use eye-end or stud-mount shocks?
Yes. The kit includes hardware for a choice of two mount styles, accommodating both traditional stud-mount shocks and high-performance eye-end shocks.
Does this kit require welding to install?
No. This is a bolt-in kit, though it does require drilling mounting holes through the rear subframe for the upper relocation bracket.
Will this clear my aftermarket exhaust?
The upper shock mounts feature 5.5 inches of adjustability, allowing you to position the shocks to clear a wide variety of custom exhaust setups. Some exhaust modifications may still be required depending on your exact routing.
What materials are used to build the mounts?
The brackets and tubes are constructed from high-strength 1.25-inch OD .120-wall DOM tubing and precision laser-cut steel, fully MIG welded in jigs.
Does the kit account for twisted or aged frames?
Yes. The adjustable overall mounting length easily accounts for natural variances in 50-year-old unibody frame dimensions, ensuring a precise fit.
