Overview & Difficulty: This moderate DIY installation takes 2 to 4 hours to complete using basic garage tools, including jack stands, sockets, wrenches, an Allen wrench, and a torque wrench. The process involves lifting the rear chassis to let the suspension fully droop, removing the wheels, and supporting the rear axle. You will swap the factory leaf plates with the heavy-duty outboard plates, torquing the U-bolts to 55 ft-lbs in an X-pattern. Replace the upper mount (torque to 260 in-lbs), grease and install the poly sleeves, then secure the shocks, torquing the upper bolt to 50 ft-lbs.
