UMI Performance, Inc. is searching for a design engineer to lead our design team in the development of world class muscle car suspension systems. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
  • Have strong design and manufacturing engineering skills.
  • Work with other departments to bring products to market.
  • Be able to build the products they design and be comfortable in a metal fabrication shop environment. Hands-on ability to run lathes, mills, welders and benders a plus.
  • Have Autodesk Inventor skills or be fluent in other modeling software and have the ability to quickly learn Inventor.
  • Have the ability to build jigs and fixtures.
  • Have the desire to work in a fast paced team environment with a passion for bringing exciting products to market.
  • Be a hands-on engineer with the technical skills to record and manage designs.
  • Automotive and suspension design experience is a plus.
  • Be comfortable with technology and interested in learning new skills.

Job description

We are looking for a Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes of our manufacturing facility. The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. Knowledge of 3S, 5S and lean manufacturing is a plus. 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Commit to plant safety procedures
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a plant manager
  • Proven managerial experience
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)

UMI Performance, Inc – a rapidly growing automotive suspension manufacturer is looking for an experienced welder to join our team! We are seeking a reliable, driven individual with the ability to both MIG and TIG weld for a full-time first shift position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Weld and fabricate finished metal products using Jigs and hand tools
  • Read blueprints and follow instructions

Qualifications:

  • Experience with both MIG and TIG welding
  • Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
  • Familiarity with blueprints and hand tools
  • Ability to handle physical workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable

UMI Performance, Inc – an automotive suspension manufacturer is looking for an experienced Production Manager to organize and oversee the manufacturing of our products. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output. Our processes include metal sawing, CNC machining, CNC laser cutting, power coating and product assembly. We expect you to have deep know-how in production procedures, especially metal working. We are seeking the ability to direct personnel towards their maximum performance as well as decision-making and problem-solving. If you are up to it, we’d like to talk to you. The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Monitor production to resolve issues
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel
  • Determine the amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
  • Ensure output meets quality standards
  • Enforce health and safety precautions

Applicants will be responsible for daily duties such as product packaging, box sorting and shipping. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be a quick learner. Experience recommended but willing to train.
