We are currently seeking to hire for the following positions:

UMI Motorsports Park runs nationally recognized autocross events. We are looking for a summer intern that can thrive in an energetic environment and can work in event marketing and coverage. In this position, you would prepare event marketing materials (both digital and print) as well as shoot photos during the autocross events. 

This is a paid internship. 

Projects: 

Event photography: Photography, editing, and sorting.

Social media: advertisements, announcements, stories, and posts.

Print materials: Decals, event materials, and advertisements. 

Qualifications:

Work fluently in Adobe Indesign and Photoshop (Lightroom knowledge is a plus) 

Photography knowledge

Requirements: 

Work in-person at our Philipsburg, PA facility, with the ability to travel to our Clearfield racetrack when appropriate. 

Must be able to work event weekends.

Event weekends are very active, and we require you to be able to safely carry camera equipment into the pit and shoot for several hours, as well as be able to safely travel multiple staircases. 

During some work days and event weekends, you will be working outside during the duration of the event. 

Job description

UMI Performance is seeking a qualified individual to assist in research and development of high performance vehicle suspension. The ideal candidate is a competent auto mechanic with an eye for detail. Meticulous record keeping with regards to part numbers, heights, distances and part relationships is required. The job includes disassembly of stock vehicles and then reassembly with UMI components, often multiple times until the component is ready for public release. Racing experience or car hobby experience is a plus.

Daily tasks include:

  • Removal, installation and documentation of factory components.
  • Removal, installation and documentation of UMI components.
  • Working with the engineering department to test fit UMI prototype components.
  • Measurement of installed components. Appearance, ride height, wheelbase, alignment, etc.
  • Note taking during installation to assistant engineering and marketing with work instructions.
  • Frequent communication with the marketing department to document assembly.
  • Working with the marketing team to set up shots for YouTube series.
  • Assisting UMI car chief with race car preparation.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Auto shop environment.
  • 7am – 3:30pm
  • Ability to keep projects moving with minimal supervision.

Job description

UMI Performance, Inc. is searching for a Fabrication Specialist to work with our engineering team in the development of world class muscle car suspension systems. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to build structural components in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Have strong design and manufacturing engineering skills.
  • Have the ability to create bills of materials and match them to the appropriate drawings.
  • Have the ability to write, or assist in writing, product instructions.
  • Have the desire to work in a fast paced team environment with a passion for bringing exciting products to market.
  • Be comfortable with technology and interested in learning new skills.
Responsibilities
  • Build automotive suspension components in a fab shop environment.
  • Work hands-on with teammates to develop new product designs which fit UMI standards of appearance and performance.
  • Gather and organize pre- and post test fit data from the platform.
  • Assist senior engineer(s) with drawings and bills of materials.
  • Work with the machine shop, weld shop and senior engineers to bring designs to market.
  • Work as a technical liaison with the marketing department to release new products.
Requirements
  • Metal fabrication experience.
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • or some combination of the above.

UMI Performance, Inc. is searching for a design engineer to join our Philipsburg, PA based engineering team. This automotive enthusiast oriented position will contribute to the creation of nationally recognized premium muscle car suspension products.

 

The ideal automotive focused candidate will:

  1. Have the ability to manage projects from concept to completion.

  2. Have strong design and manufacturing engineering skills.

  3. Work with other departments to bring products to market.

  4. Be able to build the products they design and be comfortable in a metal fabrication shop environment. Hands-on ability to run lathes, mills, welders and benders a plus.

  5. Have Autodesk Inventor skills or be fluent in other modeling software and have the ability to quickly learn Inventor.

  6. Have the ability to build jigs and fixtures.

  7. Have the desire to work in a fast-paced team environment with a passion for bringing exciting products to market.

  8. Be a hands-on engineer with the technical skills to record and manage designs.

  9. Automotive and suspension design experience is a plus.

  10. Be comfortable with technology and interested in learning new skills.

  11. Have the desire to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment that rewards creativity and initiative.

 

Occasional weekend travel may be required. The design engineer has the potential to attend various trade shows and automotive events.
