1964-1972 GM A-Body Bolt-In Rear Coilover Kit, 2-3″ Lowering
$1,049.99
Description
UMI’s bolt-in rear coilover kit allows full ride height, spring rate and damping adjustments, while trailing arm adjustment enables fine tuning of instant center. The reinforced upper mount is a direct bolt-in (requiring one additional hole to be drilled) and holds a true 2-1/2” racing coilover with double-shear mount. The FEA designed reinforced lower brackets bolt directly over the stock rear lower control arm mounts, utilizing the existing lower shock hole(s) (may requiring drilling of additional hole depending on factory configuration). The 2-hole trailing arm height adjustment enables fine tuning of instant center location for drag launch or auto-x/road race rear steer tuning. The Viking Performance shock is 19-way adjustable in both compression and rebound, and ensures the perfect setting for every application. The 2-1/2” coilover springs are available in 12” 175lb for drag use, 12” 225lb for street use and 12” 250lb for auto-x/road race. 100% designed, manufactured and raced out of Philipsburg, PA-USA and always US materials.
Notes:
- For 2-3″ Pro-Tour style lowering.
- Factory GM axle housings only. Does not fit Quick Performance, Currie, Moser, etc.
- Rear shocks may not clear all exhaust tail pipes.
- Contact [email protected] to change shock length on 1964-1965 Chevelle. Fender skirts interfere with tire removal in some cases.

RECOMMENDED ADD-ONS
THRUST BEARINGS
The thrust bearing kit is designed to be placed between the spring and the spring seat attached to the shock. This makes for easier adjustments since the spring seat is rotating on a bearing. This kit is recommended for easier adjustments but is not needed to complete the installation. We do not recommend adjusting height on the car without a thrust bearing kit.
SPANNER WRENCH
Spanner wrench tool is used to adjust vehicle height while shock stays mounted. This wrench is needed to make height adjustments.
RECOMMENDED UPGRADES
Optional Shock Tower Brace P/N 4058-4059- P/N 4058 & 4059 is designed to tie the left and right rear shock towers together for additional chassis reinforcement. UMI’s P/N 4058-4059 has been designed to clear most exhaust systems however we cannot guarantee fitment with all exhaust systems. Rear shock tower brace kits car only, does not kit wagon or El Camino.
