UMI Performance packed up and hit the road from our manufacturing plant in Philipsburg, PA to the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Our destination? The Carlisle Events 2023 GM Nationals, a gathering that brought together enthusiasts from far and wide to celebrate the amazing world of General Motors.
We rolled into the event with an impressive fleet of TEAM UMI Vehicles; our supercharged 1972 Pontiac LeMans, a timeless 1973 Pontiac Firebird, a lowered 1987 Chevy C10, a powerful pewter 1999 Chevy Camaro, and a clean 2002 Chevy Camaro. Also featured at the booth was a UMI Equipped 1978 Chevy Malibu, brought (and built) by UMI’s Dustin.
The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, but that didn’t dampen our spirits. Our Autocross Ride Alongs were an absolute hit, even on wet pavement. Our fantastic drivers, Jerry Mondock in UMI’s ‘99 Camaro, Ryan Kirkwood in UMI’s ‘72 Lemans, Mike Stewart in his UMI Equipped Firebird Formula, Jason Zapol in his UMI Equipped Chevelle, and Anthony Chilbert in his UMI Equipped C5 Corvette, took passengers for thrilling rides, showcasing the incredible capabilities of UMI Performance!
Automotive industry legend, Lou Santiago, made his way to the UMI Performance booth. He sought out our talented Engineer, Ramey Womer, to have an engaging chat about our innovative C10 Cornermax and Street Performance kits.
Of course, he couldn’t help but ask about the whereabouts of our infamous Green Machine.
The GM Nationals Real Street Shootout
All three winners were proud owners of UMI Equipped F-body vehicles. These talented Mikes were also present at UMI Motorsport Park’s first-ever muscle car event, aptly named Muscle on the Mountain.
Shootout Winners
Mike Stewart, a familiar face among UMI fans, claimed the well-deserved first-place title in his red Firebird Formula.
Coming in a close second was Mike Weiss, proudly representing his UMI EQUIPPED blue 3rd gen Firebird Formula.
And rounding out the top three was Mike Phelps in his striking UMI EQUIPPED black and gold 3rd gen Camaro.
